Barbara R. Paul, M.D.

Barbara R. Paul, M.D., serves as an advisor and board member to healthcare companies. In addition to her role on the board of Quorum Health Corporation, she is chairperson of the board at Natus Medical, Inc. Natus offers medical equipment, software, supplies and services for the diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of impairments and disorders affecting newborns, the brain, nerves, muscles and hearing. She served as senior vice president and chief medical officer at Community Health Systems (CHS) from 2007 to 2015. Prior, Dr. Paul was senior vice president and chief medical officer at Beverly Enterprises, Inc (now Golden Living, Inc.). She also worked at the federal Medicare program (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, CMS) for appointees of Presidents Clinton and Bush, where she was director of the Department of Quality Measurement and Health Assessment. Dr. Paul’s career is grounded by twelve years as a board-certified internist and primary care physician. Dr. Paul has a bachelor of science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and earned her medical degree from Stanford University School of Medicine.
