Quorum Health Assumes Transition Service Agreements from Steward Health Care

Transaction ensures uninterrupted services, supports continued growth

Brentwood, TN (March 12, 2025) – A subsidiary of Quorum Health, a national leader of quality-focused hospitals, has finalized an agreement with Steward Health Care to assume ownership of the organization’s remaining IT and revenue cycle Transition Service Agreements (TSAs). The move offers continued employment for more than 600 individuals and support for more than 25 hospitals.

The TSAs would have been terminated as part of Steward’s ongoing restructuring process on February 28. Under the new agreement, employees transitioned to Quorum Health on March 10 and support services for hospitals will remain uninterrupted. Services include patient billing, insurance and claims processing, revenue recovery, quality reporting, IT security, and maintenance and management of electronic health records, among others. With this transaction, more than 25 hospitals that previously had TSAs with Steward will be able to continue providing care uninterrupted.

In October 2024, subsidiaries of Quorum Health also acquired Texas hospitals Odessa Regional Medical Center and Scenic Mountain Medical Center from Steward.

“We’re honored to welcome a group of dedicated, highly trained team members to our organization and grateful for the ability to sustain key support functions that will directly impact the patient experience,” said Chris Harrison, CEO of Quorum Health. “We’re committed to building and improving good, local health care and this is yet another milestone in our journey to achieve that goal.”

Quorum Health’s mission is to support local community health care. The organization has a vision of a national system that helps hospitals in rural and non-urban areas remain viable health care resources. Over the last several years, Quorum has worked diligently with financial partners to improve its operations and position the company for expansion.
